Our engaging experiential courses in Coaching, Counselling, Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy or post training in Supervision, are unique in nature.  We offer a very different style, a more creative, holistic, personal approach in the many courses we currently run.  much of which is now online. Convergence is very experiential, and our training level is truly, second to none.

Other foundation courses, although quite serious, nevertheless devote very little peer counselling time, and major on the academia, sometimes offering only ten minutes a month to experience genuine counselling.  We also utilise a lot of case study material, and experiential interactions, including some feedback on classroom work to further enhance the hands-on, supervised, face-to-face client time with student peers and our home grown placement facilities.

We also UNIQUELY offer supervised placement facility locally and an opportunity to build your own private practice under the wider umbrella of our Convergence NEWSTART system, to license worthy graduates, once you have graduated at Convergence.  We encourage you to gain placements across the board to gain a variety of working experience. We also have several supervisors and training new supervisors currently so we are able to offer supervision to charities who are unable to supply qualified supervisors in house themselves.

‘Introduction’ Level-1. 12 Weeks,

Start at the beginning.  Our Fees to make it easy for you to start and learn first hand Counselling Skills and basic theory.

You will learn the theory around the History of Counselling and how to apply it today. Training is in the Humanistic Integrative stream to give you the best experiential start to a new career. Find out how to use basic Counselling Skills.

This Recognised course at CTEC Level-1 qualifies you to begin the Improvers CTEC Level-2 course, for the more serious students.

Preparation for the Diploma CTEC Level-4. Counselling & Psychotherapy Certificated and Accredited Course. Qualify on this Foundation by attending one evening per week for 3 Terms only.  For serious minded students who wish to complete a Diploma and become a qualified basic Counsellor.   Wednesday evenings (Term times) from 6pm until 9. 45pm. This Diploma will  qualify you as a ‘Basic Counsellor’, so that you may gain public liability insurance and work as a fully qualified Counsellor. You may then specialise if you wish.

The Diploma is fully Accredited by the CPFI. This CTEC certification is set at the equivalency of the prior NVQ levels.  We will help you to gain experience as a counsellor on this very experiential course There are also various placement facilities in and around Milton Keynes.

Other Colleges have utilised our placement facilities for their students. We also run a private practice for our high achieving graduates. We are also looking for potential future teacher/trainer/supervisors too.

This Recognised Professional Diploma will qualify you for 'Psychotherapeutic Counsellor' status at CTEC Level-5, once you are accredited by the CPFI.

Requirements: Students will usually hold a 1st degree and equivalent Counselling experience, and/or have at least completed their Level-4.

One evening per week 7pm - 10.30,

Specialisation available - please ask for details. Students may desire CPFI / BACP Registration, therefore examination is only arranged after graduation. 

CTEC Level-5 approximately equivalent to prior NVQ Levels.

Supervision course is also available to all of our graduates.

We also offer One Day Certificated Courses, as CPD Seminars that gain you 6 hours of CPD each one.

4 YEAR PROFESSIONAL DIPLOMA IN COUNSELLING & PSYCHOTHERAPY. HIGHER VOCATIONAL LEVELS.

PART TIME, EVENING CLASSES.

Psychotherapist CTEC Level-6/7

Subsidised Fees on 1st and 2nd years, rising on 3rd and 4th Year.

650 Supervised client hours, 150 Personal Therapy hrs over the duration of the course, plus DSM-5 Training & Clinical Placement.

Requirements: Completion of our Level-3 Foundation course at high level, or a minimum Uni 1st Degree, or an equivalent work/life experience in other related fields will need to be able to work at a post graduate level to attend this recognised ‘Psychotherapist’, - A 4 Year Professional Diploma in Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy.  Fast Track Is Available.

This will give you Qualified ‘Psychotherapist’   status, with the CPFI, once you are accredited. .

One evening per week 6pm-10.15pm. Also 8 x various One day Seminars spread over 4 years.

Please book an appointment for an assessment to undertake this 4 Year Professional study. Top Graduates will automatically be given opportunity to join our private practice in CMK.

All CTEC certifications are approximately equivalent to the prior NVQ levels and are non-degree levels. NOTE: This is a highly skilled and recognised 4 Year Professional Diploma at Level-6/7. Nationally recognised vocation courses.

2 year Recognised ‘Advanced Psyche’ Professional psychotherapist Diploma, CTEC Vocational Level-7 - in Convergence Psychotherapy & Spiritual Development  - Class attended only. Please Ask for Prices.

Requirements: This Diploma is at a very advanced level and students will need to either have already completed the 4 Year Professional Diploma CTEC Level-7 above in Counselling & Psychotherapy, or practicing as an established Psychotherapist for at least 5 Years after graduation. This is a ‘CPFI Tec’ Certification and is accredited by the CPFI. Similarly equivalent to prior NVQ levels. Course is only on Day release - Thursdays.

This is a separate part of our training syllabus which offers training to those who are unable to attend the Campus regularly for evening courses.  There are other courses available to enhance job prospects and give life skills for those who wish to invest in themselves.  We offer Accredited Counselling Training online, with excellent Tutors and You may also work with face to face counselling experience under supervision (with your peers)   Friendship & encouragement will still be possible in this way of distance learning.

There is also a 1 year course in Counselling Supervision. 5.30pm-6.45pm Saturday Evenings + 4 One DAY SEMINARS / Workshops.  Trainee supervisors Also need to be working In PLACEMENT with a small group as a trainee supervisor under supervision.  Applicants need to have completed minimum of a professional (Higher National Advanced) Diploma at CTEC Level-5+.  All CPFI Tec certification is approximately equivalent to prior NVQ levels.
